Boston in March

We took an excellent trip East this past weekend to Boston to visit friends. The weather was outstanding and totally uncommon for a St. Patrick’s Day weekend and we loved every second of it. Surprisingly, my camera spent more time on my back that in my hands because I focused much more of my time on our experience of the city. I am finding more and more that when I focus so much on photos, some things in the moment are missed. There is a song by John Mayer that pinpoints my thoughts directly when it comes to travel and photography with my favorite few lines below:

“Today I finally overcame
tryin’ to fit the world inside a picture frame
Maybe I will tell you all about it when I’m in the mood to
lose my way but let me say
You should have seen that sunrise with your own eyes
it brought me back to life
You’ll be with me next time I go outside
no more 3×5’s
just no more 3×5’s”
