Taylor- Puyallup High School Class of 2016

I’ve been lucky to photograph some really fun Seniors this year! Taylor was no exception.  This gal knew how to take her photo session at Opera Alley in Tacoma to a new level. Lots of fun, some laughter, and natural beauty was shining through for the whole session. I wish Taylor nothing but the best on her year ahead!

Hattie- Class of 2015

This Senior Portrait Session was extra sentimental for me, since Hattie is like a little sister. You may recognize her from many photo sessions I have done with her family at Ritter Farms.  I remember her as a baby, as a sweet little girl, and have had a great getting to know her as the amazing young woman that she is. This girl is going places. When she graduates from Cle Elum-Roslyn High School she is off to study at the Evergreen State College– here in Olympia and the family could not be more excited for her.  She has been in 4H as a champion, an athlete, an amazing friend, and a gentle soul off to do more great things!

We took to Snoqualmie for this senior session- a good halfway point for both of us. The weather was perfect, we braved crowds, walked a thin line on a few laws, and enjoyed the afternoon together.  Wishing Hattie all the best in her adventures ahead!

Fresh Faces

Some of the best clients I have are upcoming Seniors! I love Senior shoots because they are usually a bit spontaneous and always fun.  I spend the afternoon with Maya and Mily in downtown Olympia for their Senior Portraits. The Painted Plate is always a perfect stop for ice cream, so we couldn’t resist the opportunity for sweets and smiles.

These girls have been friends throughout their  High School years, and have personalities that are so complimentary of each other- Loved spending the afternoon with them. Wishing them only he best for their Senior year.

My Favorite Subjects

I have had more of an opportunity to really hone in on my skills for portraits this summer.  Be it vacation, business, or just around the house, I love to snap photos of the unique personalities around me. Here are a few examples of why:

My handsome Hubby- He is probably more often than not my number one subject. Lucky for me he is willing tolerant of my massive photo obsession. He always knows how to pose comfortably and really let me do my thing.

Kids- They always give an honest expression, like it or not, it is what it is. I can’t even count the many photos snapped with boogers, frowns, and tears….that is until I crawl in the mud to get the shot. Somehow, I always get a smile for that one.

Brides- These girls are all dolled up on one of the biggest and most exciting days of their lives. Even with endless amounts of stress and excitement, they can sit for a few photos with smiles that can be seen for miles.

Sisters- They always know just the right way to ham it up for the camera.  There are always genuine smiles, comfortable and silly poses.

Dads & their kids- When they don’t think the camera is on them, these can be some of the best shots. Always fun, lots of giggles, and the perfect capture of a memory.

Musicians- As a huge fan of acoustic music, I am fortunate to be surrounded by it. Austin Radio happens to be friends of mine, so I often get a change to snap a few photos for them. The beauty is, the photos can so easily show the feel for the music and the all around atmosphere of the performance.
