Taylor- Puyallup High School Class of 2016

I’ve been lucky to photograph some really fun Seniors this year! Taylor was no exception.  This gal knew how to take her photo session at Opera Alley in Tacoma to a new level. Lots of fun, some laughter, and natural beauty was shining through for the whole session. I wish Taylor nothing but the best on her year ahead!

Braving the Cold

This family is always lucky to have a sunny day, but it is ALWAYS cold for their photo session.  This year we chose the Tacoma Glass Museum as a backdrop. Even with the freezing temperatures, we managed to have fun and capture another memory!

Secret Gardens

I can’t seem to get out of the greens lately.  I have been fixated on greenery and plants.  I promise to branch out (pun totally intended) with my photography now that the weather is cooperating. I am cooking up some projects to keep the creativity flowing.

This week brought me to Wright Park Arboretum and the W. W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory in Tacoma. I met up with a fellow photographer, Mary of Mary Jo Photography to catch up and to talk photography, business, and adventures. She was even able to take a new “about me” photo for the blog here. She’s the best- she brings life and fun to her photos- and does weddings! Check her out.

Back to the Conservatory- this place is a small hidden little gem in the center of a busy city. The glass and green seem to come out of no where.  It opened in 1908 by a local park commissioner as a gift to the city. It holds beautiful Victorian details that are covered in shades of green.  While small, it is worth the $3 admission to take it in.  I found every texture in the book and the subtle humidity and warmth was welcomed on a spring day.

A Family Affair

My favorite little family approached me about a quick and very cold November photoshoot in Tacoma, Washington as a gift to their mom & dad. I immediately jumped at the opportunity. I used my favorite Tacoma backdrop and we were set, albeit very cold.  It is always fun to take photos of friends and to know it would make a mother cry of happiness, made it that much more special. The kids gave her the portraits on Christmas, and word on the street is that she cried some pretty happy tears. Mission accomplished

Glass

This week I had the pleasure of working with a set of siblings and their families who wanted to do family photos as a gift to their parents. So Sweet. I can’t yet post the photos since this is a surprise, but I can show you the surroundings for the day.  We chose the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA as our backdrop.  The weather cooperated, which is rare in November, so we took full advantage.
