I spent Saturday downtown. That is, after I got a good sleep-in, two solid cups of coffee and eventually slithered out of the house. It was a mild day, no real rain, but lots of gray clouds. Every year, Olympia’s community spills to the streets to participate in the Procession of the Species for ArtsWalk as a way to mark the incoming of spring, nature, and the general beauty around us. I managed to catch a few of the galleries, respectfully restrained from photos within each exhibit, and headed to the Cascadia Grill to listen to The Burren Boys. They put on a great set of uptempo Irish music in a relaxed atmosphere. I love seeing the community come together to celebrate art, music, nature in one weekend. If only downtown always had such a joyful bustle to it….
